Our Whole Lives
Our Whole Lives (OWL) is a comprehensive, values-based, age-appropriate, human sexuality program developed by the Unitarian Universalist Association and the United Church of Christ. Clarify values, build interpersonal skills, and understand the spiritual, emotional, and social aspects of sexuality.
Rev. Debra Haffner, UU minister and sexologist, has said that if the adults in your congregation are not taking OWL, you do not have a sexually healthy congregation.
Fall 2016: K-2nd Grade OWL. Mandatory Parent/Child Orientation Sept. 11 from 12:15-2:45. Eight sessions offered during the Celebration of Life Service from 11:00-12:00 beginning Sept. 18 this Fall.
Spring 2017: 7th-9th Grade OWL. Offered jointly with Thomas Jefferson Unitarian Church. Times and dates TBD.
Fall 2017: 4th-6th Grade OWL.
Spring 2018: 10-12th Grade OWL. Offered jointly with Thomas Jefferson Unitarian Church. Times and dates TBD.
First Unitarian offers all age-appropriate OWL curricula on a rotating schedule. Six OWL grade levels are available:
- Kindergarten/1st Grade
- 4th- 5th Grade
- 7th - 9th Grade
- 10th - 12th Grade
- Young Adult
