Earthwalk

Join in the 6th annual Louisville Earth Walk, a community celebration and fundraiser for local environmental organizations, on Saturday, October 22, at 9am at Hogan’s Fountain, Cherokee Park. Walk either on a 3.7-kilometer (~2 mile) walk or online, or anywhere, all in the spirit of caring for the environment.

Each week, we will introduce you to some of the Earth Walk sponsors.

  • Our Earth Now, a youth-led group, raises awareness and energizes a movement to enact both social and environmental change through collective empowerment and action.  Its Louisville Environmental Activist Training program teaches people how to go from idea to action.
  •  The Passionist Earth & Spirit Center is a nonprofit, interfaith spirituality center devoted to teaching contemplative practices like mindfulness, meditation, and deep connection to the natural world.
  •  Project Warm provides energy conservation services and education to promote energy-saving practices in the community through its free services to low-income households, seniors, and the disabled living in Jefferson County.
  • The West Jefferson County Community Task Force, established by the Jefferson County Division of Environmental Health and Protection, promotes environmental justice by identifying environmental problems in 12 West Louisville neighborhoods. Celebrate our beautiful planet while raising awareness and funds for local organizations working to protect the quality of life for all
