Join us on the Bus! It is not easy to know what to do when tragic news of our world seems insurmountable. Singer songwriter Carrie Newcomer writes, “I can’t change the whole world. But I can change the world I know. What’s within three feet or so.”

We have an opportunity to better know the environmental challenges of our world here in Louisville. The Environmental Justice Bus Tour is scheduled for Saturday, November 11, 10am-1pm but we do not have enough people signed up and may need to cancel.

Join me and the First Unitarian Church Seventh Principle Team on a bus tour of Rubbertown, an industrial area in Louisville located along the Ohio River with a history of emitting air and water pollutants, endangering the health and quality of life of the residents who live nearby. Veteran conservationist Tim Darst will lead the tour. It will open your eyes to environmental justice issues right here in our city. Visit the neighborhoods and landmarks impacted by these practices, and hear how these issues are being addressed.

  • PLEASE sign up by Tuesday, October 31 or the bus trip will be canceled. Non-members welcome! To sign up, email Kathy Kremer with your name, email address, and phone number. Questions? Email Kathy K.
  • Gather at First Unitarian Church. Snacks are provided but consider bringing a sack lunch. It’s free, but donations would be appreciated.
