Are you ready to make an impact in your community? 

You are invited to participate in a Listening Session and Focus Group in Louisville!

We are a team of researchers from the University of Louisville spearheading an exciting project on Nature-based Solutions (NbS), funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation (Award number: 2418376) and in collaboration with the University of New Hampshire (UNH). Nature-based Solutions (NbS) are strategies that mimic or harness natural processes to address issues such as extreme weather events, heat, and limited access to safe places to exercise or recreate. The use of human subjects/participants in this project was reviewed by the University of Louisville Institutional Review Board under IRB # 25.0263 and approved by the UNH Institutional Review Board under #IRB-FY-2025-1.

What’s in Store?

Join the conversation:

  • Duration: 2.5 hours of facilitated dialogue; you will be asked to respond to questions about how you access and use NbS in your community.
  • Location: Central Presbyterian Church, 318 W. Kentucky Street
  • Date: Tuesday May 27th, 5:00-7:30 PM – Dinner begins at 4:30 PM
  • Compensation: If you complete the Focus Group questions, you may be eligible to receive a $40 gift card. Snacks and beverages will be provided.
  • Eligibility: Participants must be between 18-89 years old, live in or serve one of the designated ENACTS neighborhoods (for this project, the ENACTs neighborhoods include all of the areas between Broadway to the north, Hill to the south, 9th St to the west, and I-65 to the east; see Map at link); be able to speak English, and be able to travel to the community meeting site.  ​*Participants must be legal U.S. tax residents (if you would like to be eligible to receive a Gift Card). Participants must provide informed consent prior to participating in the focus group portion of the research study.
