Remembering ancestors is an important practice in many Pagan traditions, especially during autumn, the dying time of the year. It is the time when Pagans often honor their beloved dead, friends and family who have passed; ancestors of blood, from whom they are descended; ancestors of spirit, mentors or historical figures whom they feel an affinity with; and ancestors of place, those who previously inhabited the land where they live.  For this service, Valerie Schwartz led us in a service of listening — hearing our ancestors, honoring their craft, and respecting their hallowed places.
