EASTER SUNDAY PROMISE
As I said in the pulpit on Easter Sunday, I will be making a pledge to this congregation even though I will not be here next year. Why? I believe in you, your mission, vision, and the future of your ministry. I also follow the lead of author Timothy D Snyder, who wrote the book On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century. Lesson 15 tells us to support those organizations that espouse our values and express our views in the world. Like I said, I believe in you, your mission, vision, and the future of your ministry.  Whoever you are, receiving this MAM MEMO, I invite you to join me.

As I mentioned on Sunday, I did not have time to deliver my entire sermon.  This link should take you to that sermon.  The part in red is the part I skipped.  In this last part, I summarize more about the story of Jesus and Christianity after the Gospel of Mark was written.

Next Sunday we will be our Earth Day Celebration Sunday. Two events that are happening prior to next Sunday are:

• “Housing- Not Cuts & Handcuffs” Rally (TODAY: April 22 at noon) 
  The group VOCAL-KY (Voices of Community Activists and Leaders) is organizing a rally to bring attention to the need for increased resources to support our local unhoused population. This rally will take place on Tuesday April 22 at noon in front of the “Hall of Justice” (600 West Jefferson Street downtown).
• Interfaith Environmental Action Summit: Friday, April 25th 
  Some of our congregation members are involved in this first-time interfaith summit.  Please join them if you can.  In this Louisville Summit,  we will explore ways we can work collaboratively with other faith communities to take better care of our planet and each other. This gathering will be on Friday April 25 from 8:30am to 1:00pm at Christ Church Cathedral.  To register for this summit event, please contact Justice Center Director Rus Funk.
