Blessing of Animals
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Blessing of Animals Service on Sunday.  We were delighted to have our young ones present to make sure there was “Room on the Broom” for all creatures.  Also, blessings to all pets and people who were with us in body and spirit for the worship service. Of note, we were sorry to miss a few precious pets on the slide show.  Please take a moment to appreciate these photos and comments regarding pets in memoriam and pets in present day. Click here to see the slide show.

The Blessing of Animals honors The Feast of St. Francis (October 4) celebrated in the Catholic Tradition.  When I read these words often attributed to St. Francis during Sunday’s worship service, they provided ample pause for this time in the history of our country and world.
Regardless of one’s individual spiritual beliefs, this prayer provides a soft place to land heart and soul.  A place to pause.  Take a deep breath and pause within a few phrases that particularly speak to you.
