Celebrate holidays and customs of the season through readings, songs, and festive lights.  In keeping with beloved tradition, the service will include the singing of Silent Night in our candlelit sanctuary and will conclude with singing of Joy to the World.

As Unitarian Universalists, let us embrace the mystery of darkness and
candlelight as we also welcome an evening of light and wonder.

Children at Vespers: The Religious Exploration Ministry would like to encourage families to be in this special service together! The service runs an hour. Flameless electronic candles will be available for young children so they can participate fully in the candle-lit portion of the service.

Childcare will be available in the Nursery.
The Library will be available with sound piped in and quiet toys, coloring, and a rocking chair available if littler ones need a break.

While there, I became part of their community and learned about the Quaker way. I also spent time, learning about my Quaker ancestors and the legends of my long-long-ago ancestors; the Cailleach (Winter Crone or Winter Queen) is a figure in Scottish, Irish and Manx folklore. Also known as the veiled one, she shapes the valleys and hills with a hammer. She freezes the land and brings the winter seasons.

Join us for this worship service in which we will honor winter’s arrival and its invitation into the sweet territory of silence.

Are you interested in sharing wisdom and knowledge among people who are currently raising UUs and other people who’ve given it their best shot?
What are UU rituals and practices for the home? How do you teach someone to challenge authority and also get them to unload the dishwasher? What does rebellion look like in a home where rebellion is lifted up as a virtue? How do you interact with a school that may not “get” your child? How can you keep up with your own faith development alongside theirs?

If you’re curious about these kinds of questions – and you want to learn how the world has changed for young folks since you raised your UU or if you want to discover what it was once like to raise a UU as you raise your UU – please let Jim Hennigan know – so we can gauge the level of interest for a group-led multi-generational conversation in the new year that explores the living tradition of being UU in our families.

• Assigned to a group dinner six times during the year.
• Each participant serves as a host at least once per year.
• For those who can’t host, serve as a co-host at least once.
• The host coordinates with others to bring a dish.
• The host arranges time and date with the diners.
• Generally, participants will meet with different people each time.
• Dinners are for adults but hosts can arrange family dinners.
• New participants may be added during the year.
• All will receive a participant list and dinner assignments.
• Dinners will be at the host’s home or at an agreed location at no cost.
