This beloved holiday tradition was a ZOOM-ONLY service. To view the Preludes and the Vespers service, click here.
We were still able to capture the beauty that candle light brings. It began at 5 pm with the Preludes — a half hour of Christmas music provided by vocal and instrumental performers. (Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties, we lost 20 minutes of the Prelude Music.)
At 5:30, the service begins the celebration with the Christmas story told through the poetry and storytelling of Langston Hughes and Maya Angelou plus the traditional choral Christmas carols and African American spirituals sung by the First Unitarian Choir.
Out of respect for the soaring COVID numbers, we cancelled the holiday reception.
