In this service we explore the many beings who have laid down the foundations for our lives before we even arrived- our Ancestors of blood, of place, and of inspiration. We inherit so much more than genes, and from people who don’t even show up on the family tree. We explore how being in relation to them and honoring that interconnectedness can help to comfort and heal us in our day-to-day, and how to listen for inspiration, guidance, and love from those who have gone before us. What can we learn from our Ancestors? Why should we? How do we deal with “problem” Ancestors? How do we prepare ourselves to be good Ancestors ourselves, someday?

About the Speaker:
Valerie Schwartz has been a practicing Pagan for a little over three decades, with experience in creating and guiding seasonal and celebratory rituals. She was a member of Clifton Unitarian Church some years ago and currently attends the First Unitarian Church in Louisville. She lives in Louisville, Kentucky with her husband, son, and an opinionated cat, and holds membership in the Druid orders of Ár nDraíocht Féin (ADF) and the Order of Bards, Ovates, and Druids (OBOD).
