Music has been a critical part of protests, possibly since the suffragettes were accompanied by brass bands. We still sing the protest songs of the 60s. In this turbulent time, protest is happening not only through new songs, but also through dance. Every song, every dance is a prayer for justice, for peace, or in celebration of community.
