Presence: Gifts of the Day

Today’s service leads us to reflect on how worrying about what might happen could be keeping us from being present to the gifts of the day and prepared for the future. How does our culture tell us what to be worried about and how can that be both helpful and unhelpful? How might a carefully kept catalogue of concerns keep us from doing the important work, enjoying the today, and being present for the things in life that matter?
Jill Sampson is today’s speaker. She grew up in central Indiana but has been in Louisville now for +25 years although you can’t tell it from her accent. She’s been a member at First Unitarian almost that long and is currently serving as the Treasurer on the Board of Trustees.   She lives in a doglegged-camelback- shotgun house in Germantown with her spouse and two cats.
