The Spirit of Compassion – A Homily for the Holidays

Join us for our annual holiday Vespers service on the evening of Christmas Eve.  The theme for our service this year is compassion. Through this celebration we open our hearts and minds to the experiences of others. This is especially relevant in these days when we are often encouraged to consider our own needs and perspectives above all others, with little consideration for another’s perspective or experience.  During this time of year when numerous religions celebrate major holidays, we will also explore ways in which various faith traditions engage in compassion and giving in order to connect with those who are less fortunate.  In keeping with our long-held and beloved tradition, the service will include the singing of Silent Night in our candlelit sanctuary and will conclude with exuberant singing of Joy to the World.  We look forward to seeing you there!
