She will start with us July 1st as a 75% time minister with her first time in our pulpit later in August. Her contract is for three years, but if all goes well, we’ll be asking the congregation to call her to a more permanent position. Rev. Mary Ann has also graciously invited her to share the pulpit with her the second Sunday in June, as a way of saying hello and ensuring a smooth handoff between ministers.

Dear First U Lou,
I am very excited to be your next minister!
You strike me as a warm and genuine community. I love how you show up for justice and that you’re a strong, caring people. I love that you use smooth stones and jagged rocks for joys and sorrows. I can’t wait to meet you all.
I want to tell you a bit about who I am. Originally from Dayton, Ohio, I’m a lifelong Unitarian Universalist. I’ve spent my adult life in Boston, but I still have family in Dayton and am glad to be coming back to the region.
I came to ministry after a first career in American Sign Language interpreting and decades of lay leadership in our faith. I was ordained in 2018. My previous ministry experience includes advanced hospital chaplaincy training. I’ve also served as a Coach on our UUA’s HOPE for Us team, where I help congregations through conflict and other challenges.
Most recently, I served as the Minister for Pastoral and Congregational Care at First Parish in Concord, Massachusetts, near Boston. You can find some of my writing for worship
